Course objectives:

To cover a wide range surgical procedures in Trauma surgery
To provide indications, as well as surgery options for treatment of the most current situations in Trauma surgery
To provide an introduction for the usage of laparoscopy in Trauma
To provide an introduction for the utilization of Negative Pressure Therapy and Damage Control Principles
To highlight the technical aspects of the surgical interventions through live streaming videos
To allow discussion between the experts and the surgeon trainees
To discuss with the trainees the different case scenarios which will be presented by the staff
To provide hands-on sessionsto improve skills in basic laparoscopic, Trauma, using energy devices, staplers and devices of negative pressure therapy (TPN).
To use a new tool – Critical Decisions in Trauma – to simulate trauma care in critical patients

Educational Methods:

Interactive theoretical and video sessions between faculty and course participants
Demonstrations of previously recorded surgeries and case discussions based on the simulated cases using the Critical Decisions in Trauma program
